All year long at PDHC we’ve talked about being Fearfully and Wonderfully Made. You may know this comes from Psalm 139 where David recognizes that God formed him in his mother’s womb. In Genesis 1, we read how we, mankind, were created in God’s own image.
Luke 1:41-44 reads, “And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit, and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy.”
Think about that ─ Elizabeth was expecting John the Baptist and John recognized Jesus in his mother Mary’s womb before they were born.
God’s word affirms time and time again the sanctity of human life. The question is how will you respond to what He has said?
Because we are in the midst of a battle, Satan seeks to steal, kill and destroy. We read examples in the Bible where he does this by targeting babies, all babies, because with new life comes hope, hope of redemption and the fulfillment of promises. He did this in ancient Egypt through Pharaoh and in the time of Christ through Herod and now. Now he targets our children through the great evil that is abortion.
But God… but a Savior came to us as a baby.
God loves us so much that he humbled himself for us as the Son came to earth. We continue to see the hope that children bring through the flutter of a heartbeat during an ultrasound and unborn babies waving at their moms and dads on the screen. Their lives bring promise too.
Your partnership in this ministry provides the hope their families need to choose life.
God bless you and Merry Christmas!
